Upon first glance, one struggled to recognize Frank after his transformation; he appeared noticeably leaner than his last appearance in the AFC Championship game in January 2022, sporting shorter, differently colored hair.

When asked about his new look, Frank casually remarked, “A little bit, a little of this, a little of that. I had to get my stuff together; it was part of the whole mental thing.”

Clark emphasized, “One of the main things, I cut a lot of red meat out. I stopped drinking liquor. Alcohol is a big factor in a lot of things as far as the weight with the gut. At the end of the day, I stopped drinking liquor about right after the season, honestly.”

He added, “It was like February. I got sick, you know, I’ve been having stomach problems and stuff — gastrointestinal problems. So, I haven’t had any (stomach problems) since I stopped drinking liquor and it kind of made sense.”

He felt his body responding positively as he continued with his training regimen.

Moreover, he found himself capable of getting up and working out at all times of the day and night.

In June 2019, The Kansas City Chiefs posted an image of Frank Clark on Facebook donning their iconic red and white jersey, his usual fuzzy brown hair adding to his distinctive look.

Almost instantly, the comment section overflowed with remarks about his hair.

One user cheekily suggested, “Get a haircut, you’re the face of the Defense lol,” while another humorously chimed in, “His hair reminds me of sideshow Bob from The Simpsons.”

Coming to his defense, Jell Ashley, a Facebook user, expressed deep concern over the comments about his hair, emphasizing,

It is very disturbing that people on here are commenting about his hair. His hair does not make him play better or worse. He is not his hair and because you don’t care for it doesn’t make it bad. Our hair is different than and we all express ourselves differently through our hair. You have no idea what his culture is nor his hair situation. So I’m pretty sure that if he wanted a haircut, he would have it done.

She added that it was disheartening that some only focused on his hair, overlooking all his talent.
