From Gamer to Gridiron: How It Started For Jackson
In his freshman year, Arnold was unexpectedly pushed into action during the 2019 state championship against Austin Westlake, which saw over 35,000 fans at AT&T Stadium.
After starting quarterback Eli Stowers, who was set to join Texas A&M, suffered a knee injury on the opening drive, Arnold stepped in.
Before the game, Sharon, Arnold’s mother, found him playing video games upstairs.

Despite Arnold’s initial reluctance, his mother felt he would play that night.
Arnold turned to his mom and said:
“There’s no way I’m playing today.”
Although his team lost the match and Arnold faced challenges, Sharon saw it as the moment “her little boy grew up.”
This display of resilience and determination transformed him into one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the country.
Jackson Arnold Parents Share Final Moment Together
In late 2022, Jackson Arnold stood on the verge of a significant transition after a whirlwind few weeks post-graduation.
He cherished the final moments of living under the same roof as his parents, Todd and Sharon, before his scenery – and indeed, his entire life – underwent a profound transformation.
Having graduated a semester early in December 2022, Arnold was poised to sign with Oklahoma, solidifying his status as the crown jewel of this year’s recruiting class and the seventh-highest-rated recruit in the university’s history.

By mid-January 2023, he had already made Norman his new home, enrolling early to gain a head start on his then-upcoming freshman campaign.
Reflecting on the whirlwind of recent events, his father, Todd, remarked,
“We’ve been playing nonstop football every weekend, there’s not a lot of downtime for us. We’re gonna try to make the most of these next few weeks. We would rather be in the state championship, but we’re gonna spend as much time as we can together leading into Christmas.”
While his family acknowledged that immediate impact might not be the primary focus, Arnold’s potential for long-term leadership was undeniable.
